HOW DOES MOTORCYCLE CHIP TUNING WORK?

Modern motorcycles come with throttled factory software — for homologation reasons, to market different variants of the same engine, or simply to maintain safety margins. Manufacturers like BMW, KTM, Ducati and Yamaha often sell identical engines in different power stages — limited by software. In motorcycle chip tuning we read the ECU, precisely optimise injection, ignition maps and throttle response curves for your bike. The result: noticeably more power, more direct throttle response and smoother engine operation — without hardware modifications.

Which motorcycles are suitable?

All modern motorcycles with fuel injection and ECU (from approx. 2005) are suitable. Particularly responsive: BMW GS series, S1000RR, KTM Adventure & Duke, Ducati, Yamaha MT series and many more.

Can I ride on public roads?

Stage 1 tuning is generally suitable for normal road traffic. We always calibrate within the limits the engine can safely handle. For race track use we also offer custom mappings.

What about restricted machines (A2)?

For A2-restricted machines we offer restoration to full power — provided you hold the appropriate licence. Conversely, we also restrict on request for licence acquisition.

Is the tuning still valid after winter?

Yes — the tuning is permanently stored in the ECU and persists through seasonal breaks, battery changes and normal workshop visits.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will the dealer notice during service that the bike has been tuned?
Specialist dealers with appropriate diagnostic equipment can detect a modified software version. Since the tuning is fully reversible, the original state can be restored before any service in approx. 30 minutes.
How long does motorcycle chip tuning take?
Usually 60–90 minutes. We come directly to you — whether at home, at your parking space or garage. No transport, no hassle.
What happens with the seasonal start after tuning?
The tuning is permanently stored in the ECU and persists through winter, battery changes and all normal workshop visits. At the seasonal start you immediately ride with more power.
Can I still go to the brand workshop for tyre changes after tuning?
Yes — since no hardware modifications are made, all maintenance work can be carried out normally. For warranty issues we recommend resetting the tuning software beforehand.

OPTIONAL DEACTIVATIONS

In addition to tuning, the following software optimizations can be performed — all also via OBD2.

EGR Delete

For applicable models: deactivate exhaust gas recirculation for cleaner combustion and more power.

OPF/GPF Delete

Deactivate petrol particulate filter on newer motorcycles — more power, more direct response.

De-restriction

Many models come restricted to 35 kW/47 HP. We remove this software restriction.
